Bookham Rifle & Pistol Club

Welcome

Bookham Rifle Club was founded as the Bookham Home Guard Rifle Club in 1945 shooting in a range on the Grove Estate in Bookham. The Club soon outgrew this facility and moved to its current site at Thorncroft Drive in the early 1950s.

Ranges were built including 25 yard, 50 yard and 20 yard pistol, later the 100 yard range was built following a donation of the necessary 3 yards worth of land and a ‘buy a brick’ campaign to raise the necessary funds. Facilities are continuing to improve with a new Air Rifle/Pistol range and a new Lightweight Sporting Rifle Range completed in 2007. There is also a developing Hunter Field Target section

We shoot smallbore match rifle at 25 yards, 50 metres & 100 yards, smallbore sporting target rifle at 20 yards, air rifle and pistol at 10 and 20 metres, and we also have a developing field target air rifle range. For those who like a bigger bang, we have close ties with Dorking & District Rifle Club who have their own fullbore rifle range at Boar Hill near Coldharbour.

The Club has numbered amongst its members several National and International standard marksmen including two Queens Prize winners and National Smallbore Champions and regularly enters teams in County and National competitions.

Please have a browse through the site and if you have any questions please e-mail us at bookham@surreysbra.org
