Bookham Rifle Club
Air Range
The indoor heated air range was built as part of the Club redevelopment in 2015, opening towards the end of that year. The air range has 10 firing points at 10m and 5 at 20yd with automated target returners. There is also a 6yd range which is used for junior learners during coaching sessions. There are also knock-down targets situated between the target holders on the 10m/20yd firing point which can be used for practicing for Modern Pentathlon, Target Sprint - and for fun!
All newcomers to shooting start on the air range and can shoot both air pistol and air rifle. The Club has an extensive range of air weapons with smaller sizes from Juniors, for whom the recommended starting age is 8 years old. In addition to coaching provided by the Club, the air range is used by the Junior Target Shooting School on Friday evenings from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday mornings from 12am to 12 noon during school terms.
Each summer holiday, the Club also runs a Junior Activity week which covers both air disciplines plus a day of archery and has lots of fun competitions for youngsters to take part in.
